Bio
Alison graduated with a Bachelor in Occupaonal Therapy and Occupaonal Science (Honours) from University College Cork, Ireland in 2018. Alison has experience working in hand therapy department in Tullamore Regional Hospital for 3 years, treang both acute orthopaedic inpaents and outpaents. This included treang acute hand trauma and developing group therapy sessions for people living with arthris. Alison has also worked as an OT in community-based disability services since moving to Australia, which brought her a special anity for promong a social model of disability, and promong a holisc approach when it comes to supporng people with disabilies.
Special Interests
- Alison places integral value in connecting with each of her patients and being a part of their unique recovery experience. She works with patients with acute, post-operative and chronic conditions.
- She has a strong affinity for evidence-based practice and delivering functional outcomes. She takes pride in being thorough in her service delivery.
- Alison approaches the development of therapy programmes and goals in collaboration with her patients, and their daily routines and life roles.
- She has an especially keen interest in working with patients with long-term disabilities and specialises in exploring assistive technology and adaptive aid solutions.
